Cooking time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 500g lamb mince
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped or grated
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small bunch fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional for heat)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. If you have time, prepare your koftas the day before and allow them to set in the fridge overnight.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, chopped onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, smoked paprika, chili flakes, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated. You can use your hands to make sure everything is evenly mixed.
  4. Divide the lamb mixture into equal portions and with wet hands shape into long, sausage-like patties. Thread onto four metal skewers.
  5. Take out your V-Grills, fire up your grill, build your embers, prepare for cooking over a medium high heat.
  6. *If you have not pre-prepared your koftas you can make them now*  or remove your koftas from the fridge and brush with oil.
  7. Place the koftas into the grooves and cook for around 15-20 minutes. Remember to keep rotating so that they brown all over.
  8. Remove koftas from the grill and serve with pita bread, tzatziki, and a fresh salad, or wrap them in our easy flatbreads with your favourite toppings.
