Garlic mushrooms are a simple yet flavourful side that cook beautifully on an Asado or Konro grill. Tossed in garlic and butter, the mushrooms absorb rich, savoury flavour while picking up a subtle smokiness from the grill. Quick to prepare and easy to cook alongside meats or vegetables, they’re a perfect addition to any outdoor cook.

Serves: 4
Prep: 5 minutes
Cook: 10–15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 450 g button or cremini mushrooms
  • 3 tbsp melted butter or olive oil
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Brush mushrooms clean and trim stems if needed. Leave small mushrooms whole and cut larger ones.
  2. In a bowl, mix butter (or olive oil), garlic, salt and pepper. Toss the mushrooms until evenly coated.
  3. Place the mushrooms in a foil tray or some tinfoil that’s been crumpled into a dish shape and set on the grill over medium heat.
  4. Cook for 10–15 minutes, mixing them occasionally, until the mushrooms are tender and lightly browned.
  5. Remove from the grill and finish with chopped parsley.
