For burger lovers, this Ultimate Smash Burger recipe is the epitome of indulgence. Using high-quality Heritage Beef Burgers, smashed directly on a hot chapa plate, these burgers deliver a crispy, caramelised exterior with a juicy interior that melts in your mouth. Perfect for those craving a no-fuss, quick-to-cook burger, the technique of pressing the beef balls thin while cooking ensures that every bite is packed with rich, meaty flavour.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Swap out your V-Grills for your Chapa Plate. Oil your Chapa plate, and fire up your grill, build your embers, prepare for cooking over a direct heat.
  2. While grill is heating up, use the time to prep all of your other ingredients, slice the tomato, lettuce, red onion, and gherkin.
  3. For the burger balls, divide 113g Heritage Beef Burgers in half, roll into 4 balls and set aside.
  4. When grill is hot, place the balls of beef down on the hot zone of the chapa plate, making sure to leave enough space in between each to smash and flip.
  5. Place a piece of parchment paper over the first ball, and use your Flamery Smash Burger Press to press down until the burger is evenly thin and flat, apply pressure for about 10 seconds. Repeat the process until all 4 burgers are smashed.
  6. Dab the cut sides of the brioche buns in the residual grease on the chapa plate, and toast the buns while the burgers continue to cook
  7. When toasted, remove the buns and begin to add the prepped toppings and condiments.
  8. When burgers are a bit more than halfway cooked through (and there are still some pink spots on top), flip the burgers to the second side.
  9. Immediately after flipping, top each with one slice of cheese.
  10. When the cheese is melted (probably less than 1 minute), stack two burgers on top of each other, remove from the grill and add to the prepared buns.

Paired with buttery, toasted brioche buns and topped with melted cheese, crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, red onion, and tangy gherkin slices, this smash burger is a serious crowd-pleaser. Finish it off with Farmison & Co.'s Burger Relish to bring everything together, creating a delicious balance of flavours. This recipe, with its quick preparation and cook time, is ideal for backyard barbecues, family dinners, or a simple yet satisfying meal.
