As partnerships go, it doesn’t get much better — or more local — than this. Just a few miles down the road from Flamery HQ, nestled in the village of Harome, sits one of the UK’s most celebrated gastropubs: The Star Inn. A Michelin-starred institution led by none other than Andrew Pern, a chef known for his bold, fire-led take on British cooking.

So when the opportunity came to shoot our grills in action at The Star — with Andrew and his team leading the charge — we packed up the kit and hit the road.

Setting the Scene

The Star Inn is the kind of place that makes you stop in your tracks — thatched roof, beams and brick, Yorkshire charm for days. It was the perfect backdrop for a shoot that wasn’t just about capturing food or fire, but about showing what happens when craft meets craft.

In the garden, we fired up the Large ASADO PRO.2.2 — flame-first cooking in the open air, surrounded by who knew exactly how to work the heat. Inside, the Konro Pro took its place in the kitchen, neatly fitted with the Grill Rack, giving the team the precision and flexibility to sear and plate with purpose.

A Yorkshire Collaboration

This shoot was more than just photography — it was a celebration of shared values. Like us, Andrew is proud to be Yorkshire born and bred. His food is rooted in local produce and seasonal rhythm. Our grills are made just down the road by a team of makers who care deeply about doing things well.

That connection was clear from the start. There was no need to over-style or over-direct — the fire, the food, and the people told the story. Every shot captured something real.

The Day Unfolds

We were joined by @chefstephensmith and @dunn_danny, who brought serious pace and creativity to the cook. The dishes that came off the grills spanned the full spectrum of what Flamery can do — delicate sardines and beef short ribs from the Konro, smoked lobster, scallops and slow-roasted lamb on the Asado.

Between shots, we chatted flavour, fire, and fuel. We got hands-on with setup, adjusted lighting mid-sear, and taste-tested everything (for quality control, naturally).

From event-style spreads to intimate kitchen plating, the versatility of the grills shone through — and watching seasoned chefs work with them was a reminder of why we built them the way we did: for control, performance, and pure joy in the cooking.

Behind the Lens

As with any Flamery shoot, it was a true team effort. This wasn’t just another marketing shoot. It was a real kitchen, with real chefs, using the grills exactly how we intended — under pressure, over fire, and with complete creative freedom.

Looking Ahead

There’s something special about seeing your product in the hands of someone who really gets it — and Andrew gets it. Fire cooking isn’t a trend for him; it’s part of how enjoys to cook. Honest, instinctive, bold.

Shooting at The Star was a moment of pride for us — not just because of the food or the photos, but because it reminded us what we’re all about. Rooted in Yorkshire. Built with care. Designed for those who love to cook.

As we head deeper into this partnership, there’s more to come — more fire, more flavour, more moments that bring people together around a grill.
