When the Yorkshire sun shows up, you don’t waste it—and when you’ve got a brand-new tabletop charcoal grill about to launch, there’s only one thing to do: load up the meat, fire up the coals, and get grilling.

With the Flamery Konro landing later this month, we knew it was time to put it through its paces. This was all about capturing the energy, control, and performance of our most compact grill yet. Think seared scallops, flame-kissed lamb chops, and smoky charred peppers. Not a bad way to spend a working day.

Here's how it all played out.

Location, Location

In classic Flamery fashion, we skipped the glossy studio and stayed local—this time, setting up in a mate’s garden just round the corner from HQ. No frills, just real grilling in a real setting. The kind of scene the Konro was made for.

Designed for focused, flame-fuelled cooking, the Konro combines sleek design, precision airflow, and serious charcoal power in a portable format. This shoot was all about showing how well it handles high-heat grilling, plancha cooking, and everything in between.

Three Courses, One Grill

We shot three different setups to show just how versatile the Konro grill can be:

Surf & Turf: Thick-cut steak with scallops, seared directly over the glowing coals. The heat held steady, giving us deep caramelisation and a perfect golden crust. It’s the kind of control you can only get from a high-performance charcoal grill.

Lamb & Veg: Next up—lamb chops with grilled baby carrots and asparagus. We used the plancha for the veg and open slats for the meat, showing off how you can easily switch between cooking styles. The adjustable airflow made it easy to manage the heat across both zones.

Chicken Skewers & Dirty Peppers: Finally, we skewered up some marinated chicken thighs and grilled them over the coals using the skewer stand. On the side? Whole peppers, tossed directly onto the embers for that blistered, smoky finish. Dirty cooking never looked (or tasted) so good.

Lessons from the Flames

Every time we shoot, we learn something new—about our team, our kit, and the gear itself. The Konro really proved its precision here. Those sliding vents gave us full control over airflow, letting us dial the temperature up or down with ease. Whether you’re aiming for a blistering sear or a slow, smoky char, this grill’s got you covered.

And yes, spending the day outside with good food, great company, and a cold drink wasn’t exactly a hardship. But hey, someone’s got to do it.

What’s Next

With the photoshoot wrapped and the grill glowing in every shot, we’re one step closer to the Konro launch. If you're already part of the Embers Club, keep an eye on your inbox—you’ll be first in line when it drops.

We’ve got big plans for this little grill. Its portability means we’re thinking beyond the garden—beaches, campsites, cabin weekends. Anywhere you can light a flame, the Konro can go.

Keep an eye on your inbox and socials over the next few weeks—we’ll be sharing the best of what we captured: reels, recipes, close-ups, maybe even a giveaway…

As ever, more grilling, more learning, more fire to come.
