After what felt like weeks of winter in September, we finally caught a lucky break. The sun decided to make an appearance, giving us the perfect window for our second Flamery photoshoot. After plenty of planning and fine-tuning, we were eager to take what we learned from the first shoot and push ourselves further. This time, we felt a lot more prepared. With our previous experience under our belts, we knew the shots we wanted and were ready to experiment with a few new ideas.

Setting the Scene

True to form, we didn’t opt for a professional shoot location. Once again, we kept it close to home – literally. This time took over Venetia’s garden for the day. You might be wondering, if we are just going to use our gardens for every shoot?—well, probably! There’s something about a casual setting that really brings out the heart of the Yorkshire brand.

For this shoot, we had two Flamery Asado grills on set: the small stand model with a split grill, and the large trolley version with a split grill and firebox. It wasn’t just about taking great photos; it was about capturing the personality and versatility of our grills. Flamery grills are far more than your average BBQ—they’re built to handle everything from an early morning fry-up to a full-on evening feast, rain or shine.

Round Two: A Plan

Learning from our first shoot, this time around, we were far more strategic. We had four different spreads planned out to showcase the versatility of our grills. From a classic full English breakfast to a vibrant Greek feast, we had a full day of cooking (and eating) ahead of us. Here's how the day unfolded:

Full English Breakfast

We started the day with the classic: a full English breakfast. The large grill was perfect for this spread—sausages, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, eggs—it was all sizzling away in the early morning sunshine. Our height-adjustable grill made it easy to control the heat, ensuring everything cooked evenly. Even the eggs came out perfect, with those all-important runny yolks adding the finishing touch.

Greek Spread

Next, we moved to the small split-grill model for a Greek-inspired feast. Brightly coloured vegetable skewers, juicy lamb koftas, and smoky halloumi took centre stage. The contrast of vibrant veggies and golden meat made for some stunning shots. This was all about showing the versatility of the grill—not only can it handle hearty meats, but it also brings out the best in fresh, simple ingredients.

Meat and Veg Feast

After the Greek spread, we got down to business with a classic meat and veg feast. Tomahawk steaks, bell peppers, and everything in between hit the flames. But the real star of the show was our first attempt at ‘dirty cooking.’ We placed beetroot and leeks directly on the embers beneath the grill, stepping away from traditional methods. The results were smoky and full of flavour. It was a little nerve-wracking, but well worth it.

Fish Course

To close out the day, we turned our attention to a seafood spread. Grilled prawns, octopus, monkfish, and scallops all made an appearance. Fish can be tricky to grill, but the adjustable height of the grill gave us the control we needed to avoid overcooking. The end result was perfectly grilled seafood, with just the right amount of smoky flavour. By this point, we’d hit our stride, and it felt great to see everything come together so smoothly.

Lessons from the Flames

Like any good grilling session, the photoshoot had its share of challenges. Getting the perfect shot while managing flames and food was no easy feat for us newbies. We wanted everything to look just right—perfect sear marks, that golden-brown char, and of course, making sure the food looked just as good as it tasted.

Looking Forward

By the time we wrapped up, we were feeling a real sense of accomplishment. What started as a daunting task turned into a day filled with creativity, teamwork, and some incredible food. Not only did we capture some beautiful photos, but we also gained a deeper understanding of how our grills perform in action. With this shoot under our belts, we’re even more excited about the official launch of the Flamery Asado Grill.

There’s plenty more to come. Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes stories, grilling tips, and recipes that will have you reaching for your tongs. We’re just getting started, and the best is definitely yet to come!
